讃州土産巡礼
四国の海山を巡り漂着物など様々なものを拾い集め、記憶に鮮烈に残った光景を縮景のような作品をその場で制作しながら続いた巡礼の旅。高松、坂出、丸亀、多度津、観音寺、琴平、善通寺、屋島などの讃岐の町々を自作の小屋付き自転車で巡り、小豆島の島四国を漂着物で作った金剛杖、数珠、背負子、笈などの装束を身に纏い縮景作品を制作しながら巡礼した。遍路の伴侶となったのは自作の小屋付き自転車だった。旅先の宿で黙々と多くの風景土産を制作したり流木から独鈷杵を削り出すなどの記録映像も交えた作品である。
The Souvenir Pilgrimage in Sanshu
During the Pilgrimage to the seas and the mountains around Shikoku, I collected various kinds of things, and using them, made a lot of artworks like the minitures of the scenery which remains vividly in my mind. Takamatsu, Sakaide, Marugame, Tadotsu, Kanonji, Kotohira, Zentsuji and Yashima… The bike journey through these towns in Sanuki took 16 days. The pilgrimage round Shodoshima island took 8 days. A bicycle with a shed made by myself had been a good companion through my journey. Pilgrim wears such as “Shoiko”(wooden frame to carry things) were made of drifted things. Lots of scenery souvenirs and “Tokkosho” (a kind of Buddhist tool) I continued making in the inns. Together with all these things, I also showed video works, which recorded the whole journey and could exhibit a substantial installation.
