高松夜港荘
歩き疲れて宿に入りお茶を淹れて、茶菓子の干し梅を食べる。ぺなぺなの浴衣に着替え、宿名の入ったタオルを持って風呂へ行く。コンビニ弁当と缶ビールを飲みながらローカル番組を見る。定期的に駅前や大通り交差点の定点カメラの映像が流れるのを、ぼーっと見る。薄壁を隔てた隣室からもテレビの音に混じって笑い声が聞こえる。 そういう時にふと、ここが極私的な箱形空間が積み重なった構造体であることに気付かされる。これはその時、頭に浮かんだ夜の旅館をイメージして制作している。
Takamatsu Midnight Harbor INN
After a day’s walking, I check in at an inn, eat dried pickled-plum Served with tea. Then, changing into a shabby kimono, go to the hot spring with a towel with the inn’s logo on it. I watch local TV programs eating a conbinient store lunch with Canned beer. I also see on the screen dully while the scenery of the station square or the crossing of the mainstreet sent from the fixed cameras are displayed at regular intervals. The laghters from the next room mixed with the sounds of The television reach my ears. Ai suddenly come to know, then, this is a structure where many box type private spaces piled up. This series of works shows the image which occurred to my mind then, that of “the Night INN.
